- The Base line from which the territorial sea is measured, as defined by the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea. It is represented by the low-water line along the coast as marked on large-scale nautical charts (Istituto Idrografico della Marina). Straight baselines has been defined by Decree of the President of the Republic No. 816 of 26 April 1977 Even if the drawing was done following all the DPR 816/77 instructions, the result cant be considered "official" (NON OFFICIAL italian base line).
